Wireless Ethernet
ETHx solutions are now available from our partner, AvaLAN Wireless.
With the ETHx wireless Ethernet platform, a network connection can be made securely, invisibly, and simply without wires. ETHx is based on a 1.536 Mbps RF link. Acting like an invisible Ethernet cable, ETHx is ideal for putting the internet anywhere. It is available in the 900 MHz ISM band for non-line-of-sight applications and in the 5.8GHz ISM band for line-of-sight applications. With the proper antennas in the line-of-sight configuration, ETHx can have up to a 30 mile range! Since ETHx is based on a proprietary RF protocol, it provides additional security that an 802.11 network does not. ETHx is available in either point-to-point or point-to-multipoint versions making it well suited for a variety of applications such as:
